"Lorena Benedetto, The Latina Comedian Breaking Barriers with Laughter"

Lorena Benedetto has stood out as a talented Latina comedian who not only makes people laugh but also breaks cultural barriers with her unique style, accent and charm.

Lorena has toured across the south of United States performing in Houston’s The Riot and The Secret Group comedy clubs. In Atlanta she brought down the house in Uptown Comedy Club. In Austin, she opened for Kam Patherson a Kill the Alley Show. She also performed in Spanish at Creek and the Cave, opening Angelo Colina’s show. In January 2024, she opened for international star Russel Peters at Dania Improv. With her witty humor and distinctive Latino accent, successfully connecting with audiences of diverse cultures. She eloquently demonstrates that true barriers do not lie in how we speak but, in the limitations, we impose on ourselves.

In a new venture, Lorena is writing for Latina Noticias Magazine to share her experiences and perspective on the comedy scene in Florida, the United States, and internationally to showcase the best of this burgeoning scene, she offers the readers an exclusive tour of standout venues, vibrant theaters, exceptional comedians, and impactful shows that have left a mark on the comedic landscape and the variety that comedy scene offers to laughter-hungry audiences.

Benedetto is an actress by nature, she has been acting since she was a kid, writing, and directing plays with life’s transformation messages. She studied theater since 6th grade in Venezuela, when the time arrived her parents pushed her to graduate as a lawyer and right after she moved to Montreal, Canada, where she learned English, French and earned a journalist degree from Concordia University, what gave her the opportunity of writing in the most important Spanish newspaper all over Canada, El Chasqui Latino. She also danced for big artists like Nicky Jam, Trevol Clam and Gipsy Kings. After this journey she went back to Venezuela for a brief time with her family, where she decided to pursuit her happiness for real, moving to Argentina where she studied theater, acting for camera and contemporary dance at the Buenos Aires University participating in short films and movies.

Later, she moved back to Venezuela, acting for several soap operas, produced and hosted a radio and tv show about fashion and arts, realizing that she was making people laugh with sarcasm and fun facts while she was having an entertainment tv show, where she interviewed and pranked people and celebrities. She moved to Miami in 2016 with a plan and a suitcase full of dreams dedicating herself to comedy.

This journey through the comedy scene will not only be entertaining but also revealing and, above all, inspiring. Who said laughter can't be the bridge that connects our minds and hearts? Lorena Benedetto is determined to prove that, through humor, we can break down the barriers that separate us and find the true joy of living.
